Sterling Trust (Cayman) Appoints In-House Counsel

Sterling Trust (Cayman) Limited, an affiliate of Sterling Global Financial Ltd. has appointed Yvette Ratchford as in-house counsel. The appointment reinforces the firm’s dedication to further expansion and ensuring that clients continue to receive a bespoke level of support and advice.  Ms. Ratchford’s experience practicing as an attorney and now taking on the role of in-house counsel provides a unique perspective to trust administration and wealth management.

Ms. Ratchford’s practice has covered all aspects of Cayman Island’s trust law advisory and litigation.  She has advised trustees, protectors and other office holders on various contentious and non- contentious matters.  While practicing in England she specialized in trust administration, financial advice and providing legal advice in the areas of trust, taxation and estates.

Ms. Ratchford was admitted as a Solicitor in England & Wales in 2006 (non-practicing) and admitted as a solicitor in the Cayman Islands in 2016.  She is also dual qualified as a financial planner and is a full member of the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). She acquired the STEP Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for International Clients and is currently pursuing her designation as a Chartered Financial Planner with the Chartered Insurance Institute.

“We are delighted to have a professional of Yvette’s calibre join our team,” said Cory Macculloch, Managing Director, Sterling Trust. “Ensuring that we are staffed with professionals who are able to support our clients in meeting their objectives remains a priority as we continue to grow.”
