THE PROJECT

Royal Beach Club Paradise Island represents a significant new chapter in The Bahamas’ tourism offering. Developed by Royal Caribbean International, the 17-acre destination on the western end of Paradise Island combines the natural beauty of The Bahamas with Royal Caribbean’s signature guest experiences, while placing Bahamian culture, entrepreneurship and participation at the heart of the project.

Long before construction began, Diane Phillips & Associates worked alongside the Royal Caribbean team to help navigate the communications, relationships and community engagement surrounding the development.

OUR ROLE

DPA provided strategic communications and relationship management throughout the years leading up to the development and opening of Royal Beach Club Paradise Island.

Our work encompassed public relations, government relations, media relations, community and stakeholder engagement, helping to facilitate communication between Royal Caribbean and the many audiences connected to the project.

An important part of our role was creating opportunities for meaningful dialogue and local participation. DPA helped coordinate and manage public consultations and stakeholder engagements, as well as workshops designed to connect Bahamian entrepreneurs and businesses with opportunities to participate in the project.

As the development progressed, we also supported key milestones and events, including the Royal Caribbean office opening, groundbreaking ceremony, commissioning of the Royal Beach Club ferries and the VIP Preview celebrating the opening of the completed destination.

CELEBRATING BAHAMIAN TALENT

Our involvement extended beyond traditional communications and events.

DPA worked closely with Royal Caribbean on its Artist Discovery Program, an initiative designed to identify and showcase Bahamian artistic talent within the Royal Beach Club experience.

Supporting this programme formed part of the broader effort to ensure that the destination did not simply operate in The Bahamas, but reflected the people, creativity and culture of The Bahamas. We helped to identify, schedule meetings with the artist's and continued to work along side the Royal Caribbean team to ensure that all artwork was completed before the official opening of the beach club.

FROM CONVERSATION TO COMPLETION

Over the course of the project, DPA helped support Royal Caribbean through multiple stages of a high-profile development,  from early public conversations and government and stakeholder engagement to construction milestones, local business participation, media coverage and the final unveiling.

The opening of Royal Beach Club Paradise Island marked the culmination of years of planning, collaboration and relationship-building.

For DPA, it was also an opportunity to see a project we had supported from its formative stages come full circle,  from the first conversations about what was possible to welcoming guests through the doors of the completed destination.

From the first conversations to the final unveiling, DPA helped Royal Caribbean build the relationships, engagement and visibility in The Bahamas needed to bring a landmark Bahamian tourism project to life.
