Palm Cay’s One Marina Phase 1 70% Sold
Less than three months after Palm Cay broke ground on what developers called their “most ambitious project to date,” the company’s CEO said today that only three units remain for sale in Phase I of its luxury condominium development One Marina.
“The response to the offering has been phenomenal,” said Rob Batchelor, Palm Cay CEO. “With an expected completion date of February of next year, we are 70% sold out with only one 2-bedroom unit and two, 3-bedroom residences remaining. Those are positive results by any standard and I think it speaks equally to the continuing desirability of The Bahamas and to the lifestyle offered at Palm Cay.”
Most interest in One Marina, Batchelor said, is from Europe, Canada and the U.S., while another of Palm Cay’s offerings, The Anchorage, has maintained its appeal to Bahamians with half of the latest phase sold and construction running ahead of schedule. Phase 4 is slated for completion by the end of 2019.
Two-bedroom townhomes in the Anchorage start at $460,000.
Located on New Providence’s southernmost shore, Palm Cay is a nearly 70-acre, $100 million development inclusive of single-family residences, condominiums, townhomes, vacation rentals, clubhouse, pools, restaurants, beachfront bar and grille, 1,200 feet of white sand beach, and fitness centre. Its 194-slip marina has been voted the best in The Bahamas by Active Captain, the TripAdvisor-like review site for mariners, for five consecutive years. And its members’ club offers a full slate of activities for families, including movie nights and fishing tournaments. It is located close to schools, churches and shopping.
Minister of Works Desmond Bannister helped to turn the first shovel of dirt at the official groundbreaking ceremony for One Marina in November.
“This waterfront community on Nassau southeastern shore has become a sought-after place to live,” Bannister said, addressing real estate professionals, media, homeowners, representatives from government ministries and departments and other stakeholders. “One Marina marks an important milestone in Palm Cay’s overall development. We hope other developers will be inspired to revitalize their real estate offerings to an upscale market hungry for vibrant communities to live, work and play and we appreciate the economic boost that a project like this generates.”
Of the units remaining in the upscale, contemporary style complex, the 1,700 square foot two-bedroom is offered at $800,000. The 3-bedroom, 3.5-bath, 3,700 square foot residence is available for $1.6 million and the two-storey penthouse with view of beach, ocean and docks is priced at $1.8 million. All have high ceilings, expansive, storm-rated glass, top of the line finishes, porcelain tile and wood floors, generous patios and water views.
Designed by local architect Winston Jones, One Marina and The Anchorage have generated jobs, and delivered numerous contracts for local suppliers and businesses.
